Since 2009, Downey Street Events has been entrusted with the planning and design of private celebrations across the country. Under the leadership of Kelsey Connely Dowling, the studio maintains a presence in San Francisco and New York while continuing to evolve its creative perspective.
Our work is supported by longstanding relationships with distinguished venues and collaborators, allowing us to access the right partners for each celebration. By focusing on a limited number of weddings each year, the studio remains closely involved at every stage of the process — from early vision through the final farewell of the weekend.

KELSEY CONNELY DOWLING
Owner, Creative Director & Principal Planner
Kelsey leads Downey Street Events with a creative instinct shaped by a deep attentiveness to people. A close listener, she notices the unique nuances that make each couple’s story distinct and weaves those details mindfully throughout the wedding weekend.
Her experience working with Fortune 500 executives in corporate leadership and human resource management continues to shape the way she approaches planning. Kelsey’s unflappable presence allows everyone to relax, knowing every detail is being handled with care and clarity.
SHALEY BAGAN
Senior Planner & Designer
Shaley brings a warm, thoughtful presence to her work. Couples often say they feel immediately comfortable with her, especially when sharing ideas that may still feel loosely formed. She has a natural ability to help translate early inspiration into weddings that feel cohesive and profoundly personal.
Her career producing events across New York and Minneapolis shaped her strengths in collaboration and refined planning. Shaley works closely with couples and creative partners alike, helping ideas take shape while keeping the experience steady and enjoyable.
KRISTEN NAKANO
Lead Planner & Designer
Kristen brings a meticulous eye and a natural sense of style to every celebration she plans. Clients often remark on how poised and dependable she is throughout the process, giving them confidence that each element is being executed with intention.
Before entering the events world, Kristen worked in the tech industry as a project manager, where she developed a strong ability to oversee complex timelines and the many moving parts behind a successful event. With a background in photography and the arts, she approaches design carefully and with restraint.
